Derek Ford, Selena Piggott acquire NIBA WA broking awards

FordSure Director Derek Ford has been named this year’s Nationwide Insurance policy Brokers Affiliation (NIBA) Broker of the Year for WA, though Selena Piggott has been crowned WA Young Broker of the Calendar year.

The announcement was designed at the yearly WA NIBA gala lunch at Crown Perth on Friday.

The pair will compete for countrywide honours in opposition to quickly-to-be-named regional winners in Queensland, NSW/ACT and SA/NT, and the 2022 Victoria/Tasmania winners Gallagher Senior Account Govt Daniel Quintin and Aon/Affinity Insurance policies Brokers Consumer Supervisor Greg Shallard.

The nationwide Broker of the Yr gets the Stephen Ball Memorial Award, which is sponsored by QBE, while the nationwide Youthful Expert Broker of the 12 months is awarded the Warren Tickle Memorial Award and joins sponsor Vero’s prestigious Young Brokers Alumni Plan.

“At Fordsure, Derek has established a quite large standard of consumer services and shopper advocacy, and we commend him for his outstanding broking achievements,” QBE Australia Pacific GM Partnerships – Business Lorelle Hillman stated.

Vero’s Point out Distribution Manager WA Shane Butcher said Ms Piggott is a “good ambassador for the insurance broking profession”.

“She is a legitimate advocate for her clients, equally SME and business, and is a good contributor to the broader sector,” he claimed. “Vero is proud to assistance the subsequent era of insurance policies brokers and its longstanding affiliation with NIBA’s Young Experts and the Warren Tickle Award.”

The Queensland winners will be introduced on Wednesday at the Brisbane Conference and Exhibition Centre, the NSW/ACT winners on July 21 at Doltone Residence Hyde Park in Sydney, and the SA/NT winners on July 22 at the Adelaide Conference Centre.

The two countrywide winners will be discovered in Oct.
